There’s a moment in Judd Apatow’s comedy “This is 40,” the spinoff to “Knocked Up,” where Leslie Mann (Apatow’s real life wife and the stalwart star of the movie) is driving home, having just confirmed she is pregnant again at the ripe old age of 39. Upset with her husband, Pete, played by Paul Rudd, over his bad financial moves and more mundane domestic matters, Mann’s Debbie isn’t quite certain how she feels about having a third child.

A gamut of emotions—happiness, fear, joy, dread, uncertainty and resignation—alternately flashes across her face in this brief but memorable scene.  It is one of those human moments that any woman who has ever just gotten the news can relate. But one doesn’t expect such sensitivity in an Apatow movie.

Of course, there’s plenty of the usual gross-out humor, foul language, nudity and general zaniness that viewers have come to expect from the prolific filmmaker/producer, but Mann’s reality-check-in-in-the car scene certainly is one of those movie moments that will be remembered, long after the more crass misadventures of “This is 40” have been forgotten.

The comedy also is notable in that Apatow and Mann’s real life daughters, Maude, 13 and Iris, 8, play Debbie’s rowdy children in the movie. Comedy veterans Albert Brooks, Jason Segel, Melissa McCarthy, Lena Dunham, John Lithgow and Megan Fox round out the cast. Overall, “This is 40” bounces between crass and heartwarming and a few places in-between.

Having drawn mixed reviews when it was theatrically released in December, “This is 40” is now available on for home viewing in the Blu-ray Combo Pack.

It includes the R-rated theatrical version of the comedy as well as an exclusive unrated edition, along with more than an hour of extended and alternate scenes, behind-the-scenes documentaries, a gag reel and Apatow’s commentary.

With the Combo Pack, viewers also can watch “This is 40” anytime, anywhere on the platform of their choice. It includes a Blu-ray disc, a DVD, a Digital Copy and UltraViolet, for the ultimate, complete viewing experience.
