Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (Action, Adventure, Fantasy)

Experience the sequel to the highest-grossing DC film of all time when “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” debuts on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, March 12, from Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. The film is also now available to own on Digital.

Having failed to defeat Aquaman (Jason Momoa, “Game of Thrones”) the first time, Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, “The Get Down”) — still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death — will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all. This time Black Manta is more formidable than ever before, wielding the power of the mythic Black Trident, which unleashes an ancient and malevolent force. To defeat him, Aquaman will turn to his imprisoned brother Orm (Patrick Wilson, “Insidious”), the former King of Atlantis, to forge an unlikely alliance. Together, they must set aside their differences in order to protect their kingdom and save Aquaman’s family — and the world — from irreversible destruction.

“Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” includes seven behind-the-scenes featurettes on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and Digital: “Finding the Lost Kingdom,” “Aquaman: Worlds Above and Below,” “It’s a Manta World,” “Necrus, The Lost Black City,” “Escape from the Deserter World,” “Brawling at Kingfish’s Lair” and “Oh TOPO!” The Digital release also includes the exclusive DC original motion comic, “Aquaman Through Fire and Water,” while the Blu-ray and 4K releases include the exclusive featurette “Atlantean Blood is Thicker Than Water,” which explores how Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson came together both as characters and friends on and off set.

The Color Purple (Drama, Musical)

Experience the extraordinary sisterhood of three women who share one unbreakable bond when “The Color Purple” arrives on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, March 12, from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The film is also now available to own on Digital.

Torn apart from her sister Nettie (Halle Bailey, “The Little Mermaid”) and her children, Celie (“American Idol” winner Fantasia Barrino in her major motion picture debut, reprising her 2005 role from Broadway) faces many hardships in her life, including an abusive husband simply called Mister (Colman Domingo, “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”). With the support of sultry singer Shug Avery (Taraji P. Henson, “Hustle & Flow”) and stand-her-ground stepdaughter Sofia (Danielle Brooks, Tony-nominated for the role on Broadway), Celie ultimately finds extraordinary strength in the unbreakable bonds of a new kind of sisterhood.

Four featurettes are included on the 4K UHD, Blu-ray and Digital releases: “Creating ‘The Color Purple’: A Bold New Take on the Beloved Classic,” “Hell Yes! The Iconic Characters of ‘The Color Purple,’” “In the Flow: Creating ‘The Color Purple”s Biggest Musical Moments” and “A Story for Me: The Legacy of ‘The Color Purple.’”

Glory to the Heroes (Documentary)

A painful reminder that it’s time for the West to urgently give Ukraine everything it needs to win its fight against Russia, “Glory to the Heroes” debuts on DVD Tuesday, March 12, from Cohen Media Group.

In June 2023, Russia destroyed the Kakhovka dam in southern Ukraine and committed an unprecedented ecocide. In response, French philosopher and filmmaker Bernard-Henri Lévy (“Slava Ukraini”) returned to Ukraine to capture Ukraine’s deep humanity despite the dire conditions, and a civilian resilience and resistance unlike any other.

In “Glory to the Heroes,” Lévy, along with his codirector Marc Roussel, spends the summer in eastern Ukraine recording for the world a passionate ode to Ukraine’s courage on the battlefield while also depicting the overwhelming sorrow sowed by Russia’s continuous attacks on civilians. On the ground during the Ukrainian counteroffensive, Lévy and Roussel embed with elite forces on the frontline. With unprecedented access, they capture the horrors of war, the hopefulness of the Ukrainian citizens and their optimism in the face of senseless destruction.

The documentary is presented in French, Ukrainian and English, with English subtitles.

One-Percent Warrior (Action)

International action sensation Tak Sakaguchi (“Bad City”) stars in “One-Percent Warrior” (originally titled “One-Percenter”), debuting on Blu-ray and Digital Tuesday, March 12, from Well Go USA Entertainment. The film streams exclusively on Hi-YAH! beginning April 5.

After his devastatingly fast, samurai-style combat approach sets filmmakers against him, a legendary action star (Sakaguchi) films his own movie — on turf claimed by feuding yakuza gangs, including Japan’s deadliest martial arts assassin.

Written and directed by Yûdai Yamaguchi (“Deadball”), with action choreography by Kensuke Sonomura (“Baby Assassins”), “One-Percent Warrior” also stars Shô Aoyagi (“The Blood of Wolves II”), Itsuji Itao (“Moonlight Mask”), Kenjirô Ishimaru (“Ring 2”) and Keisuke Horibe (“Tokyo Gore Police”). Additionally, the film features premier Jeet Kune Do master Ishii Togo. It is presented in Japanese or English, with English subtitles available. Bonus features include a making-of featurette and the film’s trailer.
