The Conjuring (Horror, Mystery, Thriller)
The 2013 New Line Cinema supernatural horror film that launched the highest grossing horror franchise to date with more than $2.2 billion at the worldwide box office, “The Conjuring” debuts on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Tuesday, Aug. 26, from Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. Additionally, the Digital 4K Ultra HD release of the movie is now available for purchase.
Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. “The Conjuring” tells the horrifying true story of Ed (played by Patrick Wilson, “Insidious”) and Lorraine Warren (played by Vera Farmiga, “Up in the Air”), world renowned paranormal investigators who were called to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.
Both “The Conjuring” 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release and the 4K Ultra HD Digital release contain three previously released featurettes (“‘The Conjuring:’ Face-to-Face with Terror,” “A Life in Demonology” and “Scaring the ‘@$*%’ Out of You”) as well as two all-new special features. Viewers can join the cast and creators of the film as they take a look back at some of the greatest scares of the series, uncovering what made “The Conjuring” films so iconic, in “Scariest of Them All,” and listen to the cast and crew reflect on their experiences creating one of the most legendary horror series in history more than a decade after “The Conjuring’s” release in “Reflections on ‘The Conjuring.’”
Lilo & Stitch (Action, Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Family, Fantasy)
Now available on Digital, Disney’s billion-dollar hit, “Lilo & Stitch,” surfs onto 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, Aug. 26. The live-action remake will also be available to purchase as a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook featuring bold cover art with Stitch breaking through the cover and custom artwork inside and out spotlighting heartfelt moments between Lilo and her mischievous best friend.
When a lonely girl named Lilo (newcomer Maia Kealoha) adopts Stitch (once again voiced by Chris Sanders), an alien “puppy,” Stitch helps to mend Lilo’s broken family — but not without wreaking hilarious havoc on the Hawaiian Islands.
This vibrant reimagining of the Disney animated classic brings new energy into the hilarious and heartwarming tale of Lilo and her cute-yet-chaotic adopted “pet” Stitch. Lush tropical settings provide welcoming visuals as warm as the found family that Lilo and Stitch create together, while also authentically honoring the cultures and beauty of Hawai’i.
Directed by Oscar-nominated writer/director/editor Dean Fleischer Camp (“Marcel the Shell with Shoes On”), “Lilo & Stitch” also stars Sydney Elizebeth Agudong (“At Her Feet”) as Nani, Zach Galifianakis (“The Hangover”) as Jumba, Billy Magnussen (“Game Night”) as Pleakley, Courtney B. Vance (“The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story”) as Cobra Bubbles, Tia Carrere (“Wayne’s World”) as social worker Mrs. Kekoa and Hannah Waddingham (“Ted Lasso”) as the voice of the Grand Councilwoman. The 4K, Blu-ray and Digital releases of the movie invite audiences to dive into several fun bonus features, including two brief deleted scenes (“Nani Cleans Up” and “My Name is Nani”), a 16-minute behind-the-scenes look at lovingly recreating the 2002 animated film, bloopers and sneak peeks of hidden extra touches thoughtfully crafted by the filmmakers. Viewers can also hear Stitch talk about six of his favorite scenes (“Escape to Earth,” “Feeding Fish,” “Hula Performance,” “Stitch Gets Named,” “Bath Time” and “Watch This”) as he watches the scenes play.
