Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths — Part One (Animation, Action, Adventure)

Based on DC’s iconic comic book limited series “Crisis on Infinite Earths” by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez, “Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths — Part One” debuts on Blu-ray and as a limited-edition 4K UHD SteelBook Tuesday, Jan. 23, from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The film is also now available to own on Digital.

Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, DC and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, the all-new, action-packed DC animated film features some of DC’s most famous Super Heroes from multiple universes, who come together to stop an impending threat of doom and destruction. “Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths — Part One” marks the beginning of the end to the Tomorrowverse story arc, with “Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths — Part Two” and “Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths — Part Three” following later this year.

Death is coming. Worse than death: oblivion. Not just for our Earth, but for everyone, everywhere, in every universe. Against this ultimate destruction, the mysterious Monitor has gathered the greatest team of Super Heroes ever assembled. But what can the combined might of Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, The Flash, Green Lantern and hundreds of Super Heroes from multiple Earths even do to save all of reality from an unstoppable antimatter Armageddon?

“Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths — Part One” features returning voice cast members Emmy winner Darren Criss (“Glee”) as Superman and Earth-2 Superman, Stana Katic (“Castle”) as Wonder Woman and Superwoman and Jensen Ackles (“Supernatural”) as Batman/Bruce Wayne. Aside from the returning voice cast, a star-studded ensemble is featured, including Matt Bomer (“White Collar”) as The Flash/Barry Allen, Meg Donnelly (“High School Musical: The Musical: The Series”) as Supergirl & Harbinger, Jimmi Simpson (“Westworld”) as Green Arrow and Zachary Quinto (“Star Trek”) as Lex Luthor. Jonathan Adams (“Last Man Standing”) provides the voice of Monitor.

Bonus features on the release include the featurettes “Crisis on Infinite Earths Part One: Crisis Prime(r),” where the filmmakers reveal in detail their intricate plan to create a comprehensive animated universe across seven films — concluding with the events of the three-part adaptation “Justice League Crisis on Infinite Earths” — and “Crisis on Infinite Earths Part One: The Selfless Speedster,” where audiences can explore The Flash’s legendary role in the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” comic series as well as the creative process that brought him to life in the animated adaptation and the vocal performance behind his heroic and romantic story. The Digital release also includes the exclusive extra “Silent Treatment,” a film clip from “Justice League Crisis on Infinite Earths — Part Two.”

The Marvels (Action, Adventure, Fantasy)

Be the first to watch “The Marvels” at home, as the film is now available to own on Digital from Marvel Studios. The movie also flies onto 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, Feb. 13.

Carol Danvers (Brie Larson, “Captain Marvel”), a.k.a. Captain Marvel, has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole, her powers are entangled with super-fan Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani, “Ms. Marvel”), a.k.a. Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris, “WandaVision”). Together, this unlikely trio must team up and work together to save the universe.

Marvel fans can now add the film to their collection and access exclusive bonus content, including four deleted scenes (“Captain-in-Residence,” “It’s Under Control,” “Space Yoga” and “The Chase”), a gag reel, two behind-the-scenes featurettes and an audio commentary from co-writer/director Nia DaCosta (“Candyman”) and VFX Supervisor Tara DeMarco (“WandaVision”). Viewers can take a cosmic trip behind the scenes with the cast and crew of the film to learn how DaCosta and her team took on such a vast production, and dive deeper with more details about Marvel’s first ever musical number in “Entangled,” and experience the lively, upbeat set as the cast and crew recall candid and heartwarming moments — along with hilarious anecdotes — in “The Production Diaries.”

Next Goal Wins (Comedy, Drama, Sport)

Based on a true story, “Next Goal Wins” is now available to own on Digital from Searchlight Pictures. The film also arrives on Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, Feb. 27.

The heartfelt underdog comedy follows the American Samoa soccer team, infamous for their brutal 31-0 FIFA loss in 2001. With the World Cup qualifiers fast approaching, the team hires down-on-his-luck, maverick coach Thomas Rongen (Michael Fassbender, “X-Men: First Class”), hoping he will turn the world’s worst soccer team into winners.

Bonus features on the release include a single deleted scene — “Priest Blessing the Team” — as well as the featurette “The Pitch of Life.” The short-form documentary explores filmmaker Taika Waititi’s (“Jojo Rabbit”) loving homage to American Samoa, Polynesian culture and the sports movie as it showcases what it took to make a winning movie about the losingest soccer team in the world.

The Sea Shall Not Have Them/Albert R.N. (Drama, War)

Two gripping and suspenseful WWII dramas directed by Lewis Gilbert (“Alfie,” “You Only Live Twice”) come to Blu-ray when “The Sea Shall Not Have Them” and “Albert R.N.” debut as a double feature on Tuesday, Jan. 23, from Cohen Film Collection.

In Gilbert’s memorable and gripping WWII saga “The Sea Shall Not Have Them,” four Allied men struggle to survive in a lifeboat on the North Sea after their plane is shot down. One of the men carries secret documents that can save London from Nazi destruction. In a daring race against time, will their rescuers save them before Nazi U-boats, stormy seas, exposure and enemy-mined waters kill them?

Based on true events, the World War II drama “Albert R.N.” follows a group of British POWs who suspect that there is a German spy in their midst after several escape attempts are foiled. Deftly directed by Gilbert and supported by Jack Asher’s (“The Curse of Frankenstein”) moody cinematography, “Albert R.N.” stands beside paragons of the genre such as “Stalag 17” and “The Great Escape.”

Wolf Pack (Action, Thriller, War)

China’s action-packed adventure “Wolf Pack” debuts on Blu-ray Tuesday, Jan. 23, from Well Go USA Entertainment. The film is also now available to own on Digital.

While seeking answers about his father’s suspicious death, a tactically trained physician infiltrates a mercenary group and soon uncovers a dangerous international conspiracy that could threaten the lives of millions of civilians.

Written and directed by first-time filmmaker Michael Chiang, “Wolf Pack” stars Max Zhang (“Ip Man 3”), Aarif Lee (“Kung Fu Yoga”), Jiang Luxia (“God of War”), Liu Ye (“Sky Hunter”), Zhang Yi (“The Wandering Earth II”) and Gianluca Zoppa (“The Wandering Earth I & II”). The film is presented in Mandarin with optional English subtitles.

Special Ops: Lioness — Season 1 (Action, Drama, Thriller)

From Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan (“Hell or High Water”), the espionage thriller “Special Ops: Lioness — Season 1” arrives on DVD and Blu-ray Tuesday, Jan. 23, from Paramount Home Entertainment.

Inspired by an actual US Military program, “Special Ops: Lioness” follows the life of Joe (Zoe Saldaña, “Guardians of the Galaxy”) while she attempts to balance her personal and professional life as the tip of the CIA’s spear in the war on terror. The Lioness Program, overseen by Kaitlyn Meade (Nicole Kidman, “The Hours”) and Byron Westfield (Michael Kelly, “Dawn of the Dead”), enlists an aggressive Marine Raider named Cruz (Laysla De Oliveira, “Locke & Key”) to operate undercover alongside Joe among the power brokers of State terrorism in the CIA’s efforts to thwart the next 9/11.

The three-disc set includes all eight episodes from Season 1 of the Paramount+ original series as well as more than 90 minutes of bonus content, including two brand-new featurettes: “Embedded with ‘Special Ops: Lioness’” and “Battle Forged Calm: Tactics & Training.” Viewers can dive into interviews with the star-studded cast, get an immersive glimpse into the intricate world of the Lioness program and explore the rigorous training required to make the series as authentic as possible.
