Exhibiting Forgiveness (Drama)
The New York Times Critic’s Pick “Exhibiting Forgiveness” is now available to own on Digital from Lionsgate.
In this raw and deeply moving directorial debut from celebrated visual artist and 2018 MacArthur Award winner Titus Kaphar, Tarrell (André Holland, “Moonlight”) is an admired American painter whose path to success is derailed by an unexpected visit from his estranged father, La’Ron (John Earl Jelks, “New Amsterdam”), a conscience-stricken man trying to reconcile. Tarrell is desperate to protect his wife Aisha (Andra Day, “The United States vs. Billie Holiday”) and son from the anguish of his childhood, but Tarrell’s spiritual mother (Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, “King Richard”) hopes he can open his heart to forgiving La’Ron, giving them all another chance at being a family. Together, father and son learn that forgetting the past is as challenging as forgiving.
Interstellar (Adventure, Drama, Sci-Fi)
Christopher Nolan’s landmark epic “Interstellar” celebrates its 10th anniversary this year with a collector’s edition 4K Ultra HD set, arriving Tuesday, Dec. 10, from Paramount Home Entertainment.
In “Interstellar,” a team of pioneers undertakes the most important mission in human history — to discover whether mankind has a future among the stars. Matthew McConaughey (“Dallas Buyers Club”) stars as an ex-pilot turned farmer who is forced to leave his family and a foundering Earth behind to lead an expedition traveling beyond this galaxy.
Acclaimed for its scientific accuracy, “Interstellar” captured viewers’ imaginations, earning more than $730 million worldwide and five Oscar nominations, with a win for Best Visual Effects. The film features an extraordinary cast, including Jessica Chastain (“Zero Dark Thirty”), Anne Hathaway (“The Dark Knight Rises”), Matt Damon (“Good Will Hunting”), John Lithgow (“3rd Rock from the Sun”), Michael Caine (“The Cider House Rules”), Timothée Chalamet (“Wonka”), Ellen Burstyn (“The Exorcist”) and more.
Created with the participation and approval of director/co-writer Christopher Nolan (“Inception”), the 10th anniversary limited edition “Interstellar” 4K Ultra HD set includes the film on both 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray, plus a third Blu-ray disc with more than three hours of new and legacy bonus content that delves into the science of the film, its groundbreaking production and a brand-new discussion of the film’s impact 10 years later. “The Future is Now: A Look Back at ‘Intersellar’” not only features interviews with Christopher Nolan, producer Emma Thomas (“Oppenheimer”), executive producer Kip Thorne and co-writer Jonathan Nolan (“Westworld”), but also further context by colleagues and fans, including director Peter Jackson (“The Lord of the Rings”) and director Denis Villeneuve (“Dune”). Additionally, the set includes access to a digital copy of the film, reproductions of five costume patches, five theatrical poster reproductions and a never-before-seen storyboard sequence from the director’s archives.
Never Let Go (Horror, Thriller)
Visionary director Alexandre Aja’s (“Crawl”) psychological horror-thriller “Never Let Go” is now available to own on Blu-ray and DVD from Lionsgate.
As an evil takes over the world beyond their front doorstep, a mother (Halle Berry, “Monster’s Ball”) and her twin sons find their only protection is their house and their deep-rooted family bond. Needing to stay connected at all times — even tethering themselves with ropes — they urge each other to never let go. But when one of the boys questions if the evil is real, the ties that bind them together are severed, triggering a terrifying fight for survival.
Bonus features on the release include a making-of featurette that takes viewers behind the film’s look and atmosphere, deleted scenes and the featurette “Creating Momma’s House,” which details how the filmmakers were able to find and prepare Momma’s house in the middle of nowhere to make the movie as authentic and scary as possible. The Blu-ray release also adds to the extras the exclusive featurette “Tethered Together.”
