Offering an intimate portrayal of Bob Dylan’s transformative years in the early 1960s, “A Complete Unknown” arrives on Digital Tuesday, Feb. 25, from Searchlight Pictures. The film also debuts on 4K UHD and Blu-ray Tuesday, April 1.
New York, 1961. Against the backdrop of a vibrant music scene and tumultuous cultural upheaval, an enigmatic 19-year-old from Minnesota named Bob Dylan arrives with his guitar and revolutionary talent, destined to change the course of American music. He forges intimate relationships with music icons of Greenwich Village on his meteoric rise, culminating in a groundbreaking and controversial performance that reverberates worldwide.
Timothée Chalamet (“Call Me by Your Name”) stars and sings as Bob Dylan in the electric true story behind the rise of one of the most iconic singer-songwriters in history. Directed by James Mangold (“Walk the Line”), “A Complete Unknown” captures Dylan’s evolution from a burgeoning folk artist to a cultural icon. The movie delves into his relationships with contemporaries like Woody Guthrie (Scoot McNairy, “Argo”), Joan Baez (Monica Barbaro, “FUBAR”) and Pete Seeger (Edward Norton, “American History X”), whose influence shaped Dylan’s early sound and whose reaction to his electric set at Newport became the stuff of legend.
Nominated for eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor, “A Complete Unknown” features never-before-seen bonus content on Digital, 4K UHD and Blu-ray. Viewers can watch the four-part “The Making of ‘A Complete Unknown’” that covers “The Story,” “Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan,” “The Supporting Cast” and “The Design,” as well as listen to an audio commentary by co-writer, director and producer James Mangold.

“Amadeus” received 11 Academy Award nominations and won eight Oscars: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Screenplay based on Material from Another Medium, Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Best Sound. In 2019, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically or aesthetically significant.”

Bonus features on the 4K release include the all-new featurette “’Amadeus’: The Making of a Masterpiece” that celebrates 40 years of the film and the previously released documentary, “The Making of ‘Amadeus.’”
