Barbie (Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy)

The highest grossing film in Warner Bros.’ 100-year history, “Barbie” is now available to own on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

To live in Barbie Land is to be a perfect being in a perfect place. Unless you have a full-on existential crisis. Or you’re a Ken.

From three-time Oscar-nominated writer/director Greta Gerwig (“Lady Bird,” “Little Women”), “Barbie” stars two-time Oscar-nominees Margot Robbie (“Bombshell,” “I, Tonya”) and Ryan Gosling (“La La Land,” “Half Nelson”) as Barbie and Ken. The film also stars America Ferrera (“Ugly Betty”), Kate McKinnon (“Saturday Night Live”), Issa Rae (“Insecure”), Simu Liu (“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”), Rhea Perlman (“Matilda”), Will Ferrell (“Step Brothers”), Kingsley Ben-Adir (“Secret Invasion”) and Michael Cera (“Scott Pilgrim vs. the World”). The 4K UHD and Blu-ray releases include six Barbietastic featurettes: “Welcome to Barbie Land,” “Becoming Barbie,” “Playing Dress-Up,” “Musical Make-Believe,” “All-Star Barbie Party” and “It’s a Weird World.”

Godzilla (Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi)

The king of monsters returns, as Roland Emmerich’s “Godzilla” debuts as a limited edition 4K Ultra HD SteelBook on Tuesday, Oct. 24, from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Following French atomic bomb tests in the South Pacific, an unknown creature is spotted passing through the Panama Canal. Scientist Niko Tatopoulos (Matthew Broderick, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”) is called in to investigate the matter, and he quickly arrives at the conclusion that a giant, irradiated lizard has been created by the explosions. Godzilla then makes its way north, landing in Manhattan to begin wreaking havoc in the big city.

The 4K Ultra HD SteelBook release includes a 4K Ultra HD disc that features “Godzilla” in 4K resolution with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos + 5.1 audio as well as the movie’s theatrical trailers. A Blu-ray disc is included with the release, too, featuring the film in high definition with 5.1 audio and four special features: a visual effects commentary, “Behind the Scenes of ‘Godzilla’ with Charles Caiman,” “All Time Best of Godzilla Fight Scenes” and the “Heroes” music video by The Wallflowers.

Meg 2: The Trench (Action, Adventure, Horror)

Dive into uncharted waters when “Meg 2: The Trench” arrives for purchase on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, Oct. 24, from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The larger-than-life thrill ride is also now available to own on Digital.

“Meg 2: The Trench” is the highly anticipated next chapter of the global blockbuster with Jason Statham (“Crank”) now partnered with Wu Jing (“Wolf Warrior”), star of five of the 10 highest-grossing films in China. The unstoppable heroes battle a frenzy of ferocious Megs — led by the biggest Meg ever — along with new, never-before-seen creatures.

Featuring jaw-dropping effects, edge-of-your-seat thrills and high-octane battles, “Meg 2: The Trench” also stars Sophia Cai (“The Meg”), Page Kennedy (“The Meg”), Sergio Peris-Mencheta (“Rambo: Last Blood”), Skyler Samuels (“The Gifted”) and Cliff Curtis (the “Avatar” franchise). Bonus features on the 4K UHD, Blu-ray and Digital releases include two behind-the-scenes featurettes: “The Making of ‘Meg 2: The Trench’” and “Up from the Depths: Even More Beasts.”

The Muppets Take Manhattan (Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Family)

The nostalgic family favorite from director Frank Oz and executive producer Jim Henson, “The Muppets Take Manhattan” debuts on 4K Ultra HD Tuesday, Oct. 24, from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Broadway bound, The Muppets take Manhattan by storm in this magical musical about breaking into show business. Fresh out of college, Kermit, Fozzie and the entire cast of Kermit’s musical “Manhattan Melodies” head for the Big Apple with plans to turn their small play into a big hit. All they need now is someone to produce their show! But when no one in town will even meet with them, it’s up to Kermit to believe hard enough for all of his friends that the show will go on!

“The Muppets Take Manhattan” 4K Ultra HD release includes a 4K Ultra HD disc with the feature remastered in 4K resolution from the original camera negative, with Dolby Vision and all-new Dolby Atmos immersive audio. The disc also features English 5.1 + mono and a brand-new feature commentary by Oz, who approved of the release’s 4K picture and Atmos sound mix. A Blu-ray disc is included with the release as well featuring the film in high definition with 5.1 audio, plus an interview with Jim Henson and the special feature “Muppetisms: Miss Piggy & Kermit the Frog, Pepe and Fozzie Bear.”

Puppy Love (Documentary)

A dog film that explores themes of humanity, “Puppy Love” debuts on Digital and On Demand Tuesday, Oct. 24, from Cerise Films.

Community, love, conflict and legacy all come into play when a healthy litter of puppies is suddenly paralyzed and no one knows why. Vets recommend putting the dogs down, but a group of courageous women rally together to save the pups. Nothing is off the table as they try Chinese herbs, acupuncture, underwater treadmills and even chicken soup.

Ride On (Action, Comedy, Drama)

Legendary superstar Jackie Chan gets back on the horse in the action-comedy “Ride On,” debuting on Digital, Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, Oct. 24, from Well Go USA Entertainment.

After debt collectors attempt to seize the beloved stunt horse of washed-up aging stuntman Luo (Chan, the “Rush Hour” franchise), video of the dynamic duo’s daring escape goes viral on social media, immediately reviving Luo’s movie career. But in the midst of this triumphant return to film, the furious debt collectors return with a court order that no amount of fame — or acrobatic antics — can help the pair evade.

Written and directed by award-winning filmmaker Larry Yang (“Another Shot,” “Mountain Cry”), “Ride On” also stars Kevin Guo (“Adoring”), Wu Jing (“The Wandering Earth” series), Xing Yu (“IP Man”) and Andy On (“New Police Story”). The movie is presented in Mandarin, with an English language track also available. Bonus materials on the release include the film’s trailer and two featurettes: “Behind the Scenes” and “Oh My Horse.”

TV Shows

The Boys: Season 3 (Action, Comedy, Crime)

Based on the New York Times best-selling comic book series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, “The Boys: Season 3” debuts on Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, Oct. 24, from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

It’s been a year of calm. Homelander’s (Antony Starr, “Wish You Were Here”) subdued. Butcher (Karl Urban, J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek”) works for the government, supervised by Hughie (Jack Quaid, 2022’s “Scream”) of all people. But both men itch to turn this peace and quiet into blood and bone. So, when The Boys learn of a mysterious Anti-Supe weapon, it sends them crashing into The Seven, starting a war, and chasing the legend of the first superhero: Soldier Boy.

Special features on the release include a making-of featurette as well as deleted and extended scenes and gag reels.

Yellowjackets: Season Two (Drama, Horror, Mystery)

Boasting more than 40 minutes of special features, “Yellowjackets: Season Two” is now available to own on DVD from Paramount Home Entertainment.

The Yellowjackets barely made it through summer in the woods, but now as winter begins to bite, we’ll see if hunger and desperation turn into full-on psychosis. While there may or may not be a dark and powerful force inhabiting the wilderness, their survival could depend upon what they choose to believe. Meanwhile, 25 years later, each survivor must ask themselves: Is the darkness coming for them, or is it coming from them?

“Yellowjackets: Season Two” stars Emmy nominee Melanie Lynskey (“Togetherness”), Tawny Cypress (“Inez & Doug & Kira”), Juliette Lewis (“Natural Born Killers”) and Christina Ricci (“Casper”) as well as guest star Elijah Wood (“The Lord of the Rings” trilogy). The three-disc DVD set features all nine episodes from the second season plus “Creating ‘Yellowjackets,’” the “No Return” cover by Alanis Morissette and nine “Behind the Buzz” episodic featurettes.
