The Boogeyman (Horror, Mystery, Thriller)

Relive your most terrifying childhood fears with “The Boogeyman,” now available on Digital from 20th Century Studios. The film also releases on Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, Oct. 10, just in time for Halloween.

In this horror-thriller from the mind of Stephen King, two sisters — along with their therapist father — are reeling from their mother’s death. When a desperate patient comes to their home, he leaves behind a terrifying entity that feeds on its victims’ suffering.

Horror fans can add “The Boogeyman” to their Digital movie collection and access exclusive bonus features, including a behind-the-scenes look into director Rob Savage’s vision for the frightening tale (“Into the Darkness”) and some lighthearted outtakes.

Goodbye Monster (Animation, Adventure, Comedy)

The anime action-adventure “Goodbye Monster” debuts on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Tuesday, Sept. 5, from Well Go USA Entertainment.

After disobeying orders and using an untested idea to defeat the Dark Spirit, a promising young doctor accidentally destroys his island and is banished from Kunlun Hospital, forbidden from ever practicing medicine again. But when a young boy comes to him for healing, he may have one more chance to redeem himself — and restore his home.

“Goodbye Monster” is presented in Mandarin with an all-new English dub. Optional English and Chinese subtitles are also available.

Matilda (Comedy, Family, Fantasy)

The beloved family favorite “Matilda” debuts on 4K Ultra HD Tuesday, Sept. 5, from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

See the world from a kid’s-eye view with “Matilda,” a modern fairytale that mixes hilarious humor with the magical message of love. Mara Wilson (“Mrs. Doubtfire”) stars as Matilda, a super-smart little girl who’s woefully misunderstood by her parents (Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman), her brother and an evil school principal. But with the help of a brave best friend and a wonderful teacher, Matilda discovers she doesn’t have to get mad to get even.

The limited-edition SteelBook release of “Matilda” features the movie scanned from the original camera negative and presented in 4K resolution with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos audio + 5.1. Additionally, viewers can enjoy an all-new audio commentary with director/co-star Danny DeVito and the film’s theatrical trailer on the 4K Ultra HD disc. The Blu-ray disc included with the release features the movie in high definition with 5.1 audio as well as five special features: “Afternoon Tea: A Very Magical ‘Matilda’ Reunion,” “A Children’s Guide to Good Manners,” “Escape to the Library,” “My Movie About Making ‘Matilda’ by Mara Wilson” and “‘Matilda’’s Movie Magic!”

Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken (Animation, Action, Adventure)

DreamWorks Animation’s coming-of-age aquatic adventure “Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken” is now available on Digital from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. The movie also releases on Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, Sept. 26.

Dive into the turbulent waters of high school with this heartwarming action comedy about a shy teenager who discovers that she’s part of a legendary royal lineage of mythical sea krakens and that her destiny, in the depths of the oceans, is bigger than she ever dreamed. Learning to be an all-powerful sea creature while hiding among humans is hard enough for Ruby (voiced by Lana Condor, “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before”), but to make matters worse, her super popular new bestie, Chelsea (voiced by Annie Murphy, “Schitt’s Creek”), is secretly a mermaid! Mermaids have been battling the Krakens for eons to rule the ocean, but Chelsea has come to land to finally put an end to that conflict. However, when Chelsea double-crosses her, Ruby will ultimately need to embrace who she is and go big to protect those she loves most.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Animation, Action, Adventure)

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga (Best Animated Feature Film, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”), “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” swinging onto 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, Sept. 5, from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film is also now available to own on Digital.

After reuniting with Gwen Stacy (voiced by Hailee Steinfeld, “Bumblebee”), Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man (voiced by Shameik Moore, “Dope”) is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders, and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

Blue Bloods: The Thirteenth Season (Crime, Drama, Mystery)

Emmy and Golden Globe winner Tom Selleck (“Magnum, P.I.”) returns as Frank Reagan in the hit police drama “Blue Bloods: The Thirteenth Season,” now available on DVD from Paramount Home Entertainment.

In Season 13 of “Blue Bloods,” Eddie (Vanessa Ray) and Jamie (Will Estes) deal with a domestic violence case associated with an investigation led by Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) and Baez (Marisa Ramirez); Frank and Archbishop Kearns (Stacey Keach) go on a mission to avail themselves to an unfiltered look at the city; and Erin (Bridget Moynahan) is presented with a surprising offer by her ex-husband, Jack Boyle (Peter Hermann), regarding her run for District Attorney. The season also features many guest appearances, including Jennifer Esposito (“Crash”), who returns as Jackie Curatola and reunites with Danny to solve a case close to her home; Larry Manetti (“Magnum, P.I.”); Dylan Walsh (“Nip/Tuck”); and more.

The six-disc collection features every drama-filled episode from the 13th season along with more than an hour of special features. Extras include exclusive deleted scenes, a gag reel and two featurettes: “The Story of the Reagans: Season 13” and “The Legacy of Joe Reagan.”

History’s Greatest of All Time with Peyton Manning (Documentary, History)

The G.O.A.T.s across many categories go head-to-head in “History’s Greatest of All Time with Peyton Manning,” now available on DVD from Lionsgate.

Two-time Super Bowl champion and Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning hosts a robust exploration of what makes someone or something the G.O.A.T. (the “Greatest of All Time”) across a wide range of disciplines, from toys, inventions and sports cars to daredevils and titans of industry. Protecting the nation’s security one last time, “NCIS: Los Angeles — The Final Season” arrives on DVD Tuesday, Sept. 5, from Paramount Home Entertainment.

In the final season of “NCIS: Los Angeles,” amidst the happy news about Callen (Chris O’Donnell) and Anna’s (Bar Paly) engagement, Hetty Lange (Linda Hunt) is still on a dangerous mission and will need the help of the NCIS team to save her. The NCIS team must also focus on dangers both at home and abroad, with a bombing at a military combat drone facility and shocking news about the fighting overseas.

“NCIS: Los Angeles — The Final Season” includes all 21 episodes from the 14th season on six discs plus two crossover episodes (“NCIS’” “Too Many Crooks” and “NCIS: Hawai’i’s” “Deep Fake”), exclusive deleted scenes and three featurettes that take viewers behind the scenes with the cast and crew: “A Killer Crossover,” “One Last Snapshot: The Final Season of ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’” and “To Old Friends and New Beginnings.” “NCIS: Los Angeles — The Complete Series” will also be available to purchase on DVD, featuring every episode of the series along with nearly 17 hours of bonus content.

Star Trek: Picard — The Final Season (Action, Adventure, Drama)

“Star Trek: Picard — The Final Season” arrives on Blu-ray, DVD and as a limited-edition Blu-ray SteelBook Tuesday, Sept. 5, from Paramount Home Entertainment.

In the thrilling conclusion of “Star Trek: Picard,” a desperate message from a long-lost friend draws Starfleet legend Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart, “X-Men”) into the most daring mission of his life, forcing him to recruit allies spanning generations old and new.
