Just what viewers need to calm their fears in the wake of coronavirus/Covid-19 pandemic—a feel-bad TV series. Netflix has announced it will produce a new original series called “All of Us Are Dead.”

The world’s largest streaming entertainment service is teaming up with director Lee JQ (“Beethoven Virus,” “Damo: The Legendary Police Woman”) on the series which delves into the world of a group of high school students who are faced with an extreme crisis situation when they become trapped in their school, while a zombie virus spreads like a wildfire. It’s based on the popular Korean webtoon that translates to “Now at Our School,” which has been popular in Indonesia, Thailand and Taiwan.

Similar in tone to Netflix’s original series “Kingdom,” “All of Us Are Dead” is set to begin a new chapter in the Korean zombie genre, as director Lee brings a new perspective through the narrative and the distinctive cinematography for which he is known.

“All of Us Are Dead” is written by Chun Sung-il, and directed by Lee JQ and Kim Nam-su. It will be produced by JTBC Studios in association with Film Monster. It has not yet been announced when the show will premiere.
