Babes (Comedy)

A hilarious and heartfelt comedy about the bonds of friendship and the messy, unpredictable challenges of adulthood and becoming a parent, “Babes” is now available to own on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital from NEON.

From co-writers Ilana Glazer (“Broad City”) and Josh Rabinowitz (“The Carmichael Show”) and directed by Pamela Adlon (“Better Things”), “Babes” follows inseparable childhood best friends Eden (Glazer) and Dawn (Michelle Buteau, “Isn’t It Romantic”), who grew up together in New York City and are now firmly in different phases of adulthood. When carefree and single Eden decides to have a baby on her own after a one-night stand, their friendship faces its greatest challenge. “Babes” delves into the complexities of female friendship with a blend of laughter, tears and labor pains.

“Babes” features more than 30 minutes of bonus features on Blu-ray and DVD, including deleted scenes. Viewers can also watch two featurettes: “Ilana & Michelle Taste Baby Food and Talk ‘Babes’” and “The Moms Behind ‘Babes’: Ilana, Michelle and Pamela in Conversation.”

The Bikeriders (Crime, Drama)

Focus Features’ gritty biker film inspired by true events, “The Bikeriders” cruises onto 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, Aug. 13, from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. The film is also now available to own on Digital and is currently steaming on Peacock.

“The Bikeriders” captures a rebellious time in America when the culture and people were changing. After a chance encounter at a local bar, strong-willed Kathy (Tony Award winner Jodie Comer, “Prima Facie”) is inextricably drawn to Benny (Academy Award nominee Austin Butler, “Elvis”), the newest member of Midwestern motorcycle club the Vandals, led by the enigmatic Johnny (Academy Award nominee Tom Hardy, “The Revenant”). Much like the country around it, the club begins to evolve, transforming from a gathering place for local outsiders into a dangerous underworld of violence, forcing Benny to choose between Kathy and his loyalty to the club.

“The Bikeriders” features exclusive bonus content on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital, including interviews with the film’s lead actors about their gritty portrayals (“Johnny, Benny, & Kathy”), a behind-the-scenes look at how the production team captured the badass biker aesthetic in the late 1960s Midwest environment (“The Era of ‘The Bikeriders’”) and a deep dive into writer/director Jeff Nichols’ (“Mud”) vision (“The Filmmaker’s Eye: Jeff Nichols”). A feature commentary with Nichols is also included.

Collateral (Action, Crime, Drama, Thriller)

Celebrate the 20th anniversary of director Michael Mann’s stylishly compelling noir thriller “Collateral” with a new limited-edition 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray SteelBook, now available to own from Paramount Home Entertainment.

Tom Cruise (“Top Gun”) gives a chilling performance as Vincent, a cool, calculating contract killer at the top of his game. Jamie Foxx (“Django Unchained”) received an Academy Award nomination for his portrayal of Max, a cabbie with big dreams and little to show for it. Max transports Vincent on his next job — one night, five stops, five hits and a getaway. After this fateful night, neither man will ever be the same.

Originally released on Aug. 6, 2004, “Collateral” wowed critics and audiences alike and continues to be revered as a masterful blend of suspense and drama, combining intense action with captivating character exploration. Written by Stuart Beattie (“Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl”), the film also stars Jada Pinkett Smith (“Girls Trip”), Mark Ruffalo (“The Avengers”), Peter Berg (“Chicago Hope”) and Javier Bardem (“No Country for Old Men”).

June Zero (Drama, History)

Based on true accounts, “June Zero” debuts on Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, Aug. 13, from Cohen Media Group.

The 1961 preparations for the execution of Adolf Eichmann, a principal architect of the Holocaust, are revisited in this gripping and surprising new vision from American filmmaker Jake Paltrow (“Young Ones”). “June Zero” is told from the unique perspectives of three distinct figures: Eichmann’s Jewish Moroccan prison guard, an Israeli police investigator who also happens to be a Holocaust survivor and a precocious and clever 13-year-old Libyan immigrant.

Entirely shot on 16mm film, Paltrow’s vividly textured work brings to life the varied experiences of these characters, emphasizing that the same historical events are often perceived differently by people around the world. “June Zero” underscores the notion that shared traumas have the power to forge the strongest bonds and give rise to unexpected moments of triumph and connection. As the film delves into the complexities of the human experience during this pivotal event, it serves as a poignant reminder that for many in the margins of the past, history has to be claimed in order to be made.

“June Zero” is presented in Hebrew, Arabic and Spanish with English subtitles.
