Elio (Adventure, Animation, Comedy, Drama, Family, Fantasy, Sci-Fi)

Take your family on an interstellar adventure with Disney and Pixar’s “Elio,” debuting on Digital Tuesday, Aug. 19. The animated feature lands on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, Sept. 9.

The latest chapter in Disney and Pixar’s storytelling legacy, “Elio” follows Elio Solís (voiced by Yonas Kibreab, “Obi-Wan Kenobi”), an alien-obsessed boy who suddenly has a close encounter of the intergalactic kind. After trying everything to contact extraterrestrials, Elio is thrilled when they not only respond, but also beam him up to their cosmic “Communiverse.” Imagine his surprise when other planetary powers-that-be assume he is the leader of Earth! Elio’s experience in the Communiverse not only expands his horizons, but teaches him how important it is to build connections with loved ones back on Earth.

The Digital, 4K UHD and Blu-ray releases of “Elio” feature plenty of exclusive bonus content, including a gag reel, five deleted scenes (“Bike Chase,” “Garden Party,” “Carver Legend,” “Questa’s Second Test” and “Home Visit”) and a peek at Pixar’s Easter Egg inclusions. Viewers can also go behind the scenes with the cast and crew to get an in-depth look at the design and development of “Elio’s” meteoric main characters, as well as the making of all the celestial environments that make up the film’s universe, in “Inside the Communiverse: The World and Characters of ‘Elio;’” hear a real-life astronaut discuss space travel, possible alien life on other planets and why it’s important to study space in “Out of This World: An Astro Q&A;” and have “Elio’s” lead story artist, Nicolle Castro (“Luca”), guide them through drawing a couple of the film’s interstellar characters in “Astronomic Art Class: Ooooo and Glordon.” The 4K UHD release will be available in a collectible limited-edition SteelBook as well featuring astronomically appealing artwork and packaging that displays the beauty and wonder of Elio’s adventure, along with a couple of his new extraterrestrial friends.

How to Train Your Dragon (Action, Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Family, Fantasy)

Experience “How to Train Your Dragon” like never before, as the re-imagined epic is now available to own on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.

Oscar nominee Dean DeBlois, the creative visionary behind the acclaimed “How to Train Your Dragon” franchise, turns his beloved animated film into a stunning live-action spectacle. On the Isle of Berk, Vikings and dragons have battled for generations, but that won’t stop Hiccup (Mason Thames, “The Black Phone”), the son of Chief Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler, “300”), from building an unlikely bond with the feared dragon, Toothless. With an ancient evil threatening their worlds, it’s up to Hiccup, Toothless and their courageous companion Astrid (Nico Parker, “The Last of Us”) to make the realm realize they’re stronger together — and only through friendship and bravery can they overcome the challenges of a high-flying adventure.

Viewers can go on a ride behind the scenes of “How to Train Your Dragon” with never-before-seen bonus content, including two deleted scenes with introductions by writer/director Dean DeBlois (“Village Sneaking” and “Beach Break”), a gag reel and several making-of vignettes that dive deeper into the cutting-edge visual effects, elaborate character transformations and iconic story that bring the Isle of Berk, the dragons and the Vikings to life with jaw-dropping realism. Featurettes include “Building Berk,” “Dreaming Up the Dragons” and “Fit for a Viking.” Viewers can also watch Mason Thames perform the full “Forbidden Friendship” sequence with a puppeteer in the early stages of creating one of the film’s most iconic scenes; see the various elements that came together to create the scene where Hiccup goes on his first flight with Toothless; and explore the Isle of Berk at the all-new Epic Universe theme park in Florida. A feature commentary with DeBlois and the 45-minute “Love and Legacy: Making ‘How to Train Your Dragon’” documentary round out the extras.
