Companion (Dark Comedy, Sci-Fi, Thriller)
The satirical sci-fi thriller “Companion” debuts on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, April 1, from Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. The film is also now available to own on Digital.
New Line Cinema — the studio that brought moviegoers “The Notebook” — and the unhinged creators of “Barbarian” cordially invite viewers to experience a new kind of love story. Written and directed by Drew Hancock (“Suburgatory”), “Companion” stars Sophie Thatcher (“Yellowjackets”), Jack Quaid (“Novocaine”), Lukas Gage (“Smile 2”), Megan Suri (“It Lives Inside”), Harvey Guillén (“What We Do in the Shadows”) and Rupert Friend (“Asteroid City”).
The 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and Digital releases of “Companion” come with three featurettes. Viewers can delve into the complex relationships at the heart of the movie with Jack Quaid and Sophie Thatcher in “I Feel, Therefore I Am;” explore the fun, lighthearted relationship between Patrick and Eli with Lukas Gage and Harvey Guillén in “Love, Eli;” and hear from director Drew Hancock as he breaks down the fusion of slasher and sci-fi elements in the film and how they’re the perfect recipe for the wild and unexpected horrors humans can inflict upon AI in “AI Horror.”
Dog Man (Action, Adventure, Animation, Comedy, Crime, Family, Fantasy)
A paw-some comedy adventure the whole family can enjoy, “Dog Man” pounces onto Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, April 1, from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. The animated film is also now available to own on Digital.
From DreamWorks Animation — creators of “How to Train Your Dragon” and “The Wild Robot” — comes the canine crime-fighting film adaptation of Dav Pilkey’s literary phenomenon: “Dog Man.” When a faithful police dog and his human police officer owner are injured on the job, a harebrained surgery fuses the two of them together and Dog Man is born! As he embraces his new identity and strives to impress his chief (voiced by Lil Rel Howery, “Get Out”), Dog Man must stop the villainous Petey the Cat (voiced by Pete Davidson, “Saturday Night Live”) from cloning himself and creating an evil kitten, doubling his evil abilities. The story takes a turn when the kitten forges an unexpected bond with Dog Man and, in the process, they discover the power of family to bring even the most hostile foes together.
Written and directed by Peter Hastings (“The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants”), “Dog Man” also features the vocal talents of Isla Fisher (“Wedding Crashers”), Poppy Liu (“Hacks”), Stephen Root (“Barry”), Billy Boyd (the “Lord of the Rings” franchise) and Ricky Gervais (“The Office”). The film comes with plenty of tail-wagging extras on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital, including eight deleted and extended scenes with introductions by Hastings (“Sewer Ball Chase,” “Petey Robs Bank of Jim,” “Li’l Petey Adoption People,” “Petey Puppet Time,” “Dog Man Chopper Hang Glider,” “Revenge of the Bank of Jim,” “Butler Business” and “Flippy in Jail Epilogue”), three how-to-draw tutorials from head of story Anthony Zierhut (Dog Man, Petey and Li’l Petey), recording sessions with the actors (“Meet the Pack”) and a feature commentary with Hastings. Additionally, guests can watch the making-of featurette “The Making of ‘Dog Man:’ A Sarah Hatoff Exclusive” and learn “Howl to Make Doughnuts for Dogs.”
Flight Risk (Action, Crime, Drama, Thriller)
Prepare for heavy turbulence when “Flight Risk” arrives on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, April 1, from Lionsgate. The high-stakes suspense thriller will also be available for purchase as a limited-edition 4K SteelBook and is now available to own on Digital.
Directed by Academy Award winner Mel Gibson (“Braveheart”), “Flight Risk” stars Academy Award nominee Mark Wahlberg (“The Departed”) as a pilot transporting an Air Marshal (Michelle Dockery, “Downton Abbey”) accompanying a fugitive (Topher Grace, “That ’70s Show”) to trial. As they cross the Alaskan wilderness, tensions soar and trust is tested, as not everyone onboard is who they seem.
Special features on the release include “Risk Management: Making ‘Flight Risk,’” where the filmmakers talk about the intricate and complicated process of shooting a film inside a physical plane, and the movie’s theatrical trailer.
