Since his wife’s death, Victor (Leslie Odom Jr., “Hamilton”) has raised his daughter Angela (Lidya Jewett, “Hidden Figures”) alone. After Angela and her friend (newcomer Olivia O’Neill) return from a three-day disappearance with missing memories, they begin displaying frightening behavior. Victor’s best hope is to find the only person who has seen anything like this before: Chris MacNeil (Ellen Burstyn, “The Exorcist”), whose haunting experience with her daughter Regan (Linda Blair, “The Exorcist”) may be the key to combating ultimate evil.

Directed and co-written by David Gordon Green (2018’s “Halloween”), “The Exorcist: Believer” directly follows the groundbreaking 1973 film “The Exorcist.” Seven extras on the release give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the movie, including editing an exorcism, the stages of possession and a feature commentary with Green, executive producer Ryan Turek, co-writer Peter Sattler (“Camp X-Ray”) and special makeup FX designer Christopher Nelson.
