Addams Family Values (Comedy, Fantasy)

Get ready for a kookier, spookier and altogether ookier experience when “Addams Family Values” arrives on 4K Ultra HD for the first time ever Tuesday, Oct. 29, from Paramount Home Entertainment.

An enduringly hilarious cult classic, director Barry Sonnenfeld’s “Addams Family Values” has been newly remastered from the original camera negative and is creepy fun for the whole family. Featuring the return of everyone’s favorite frightening family, the uproarious film boasts an all-star cast including Anjelica Huston (“The Witches”), Raul Julia (“Kiss of the Spider Woman”), Christopher Lloyd (the “Back to the Future” franchise), Joan Cusack (“Nine Months”), Christina Ricci (“Casper”) and Carol Kane (“Scrooged”).

Gomez (Julia) and Morticia (Huston) welcome a new addition to the Addams household — Pubert (Kaitlyn and Kristen Hooper, “Home Improvement”), their soft, cuddly and mustachioed baby boy. As Fester (Lloyd) falls hard for the new nanny (Cusack), cynically suspicious Wednesday (Ricci) and Pugsley (Jimmy Workman, “As Good as It Gets”) discover she’s a black-widow murderess. Though they are shipped off to summer camp, Wednesday still has a Thing or two planned to save Fester and the family.

The release includes the film in sparkling 4K Ultra HD plus a Digital copy of the movie and an all-new commentary by director Barry Sonnenfeld (“Men in Black”) and screenwriter Paul Rudnick (“In & Out”), who reunite to watch their beloved comedy and provide new insight on the production and the film’s continuing legacy. The release also features the all-new extra “Creating Family Values,” featuring a collection of insightful behind-the-scenes images and interviews shot during the film’s production.

For those who want to watch “Addams Family Values” on the big screen, the movie will return to select theaters on Nov. 10 and 13 as part of Paramount Home Entertainment and FANGORIA’s SCREAM GREATS series.

Borderlands (Action, Adventure, Comedy, Sci-Fi, Thriller)

Vault Hunters can now bring Pandora home, as “Borderlands” is available to own on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital from Lionsgate. The film will also be available to rent digitally on Tuesday, Oct. 29.

From director Eli Roth (“Thanksgiving”) and producer Avi Arad (“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”), “Borderlands” offers a fresh take on the popular video game series’ beloved characters. Lilith (Cate Blanchett, “The Lord of the Rings” franchise), an infamous bounty hunter with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home, Pandora, the most chaotic planet in the galaxy. Her mission is to find the missing daughter of Atlas (Edgar Ramírez, “Point Break”), the universe’s most powerful SOB. Lilith forms an unexpected alliance with Roland (Kevin Hart, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle”), a seasoned mercenary on a mission; Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt, “Barbie”), a feral pre-teen demolitionist; Krieg (Florian Munteanu, “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”), Tina’s musclebound protector; Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis, “Halloween”), the oddball scientist who’s seen it all; and Claptrap (voiced by Jack Black, the “Kung Fu Panda” franchise), a wiseass robot. Together, this ragtag team goes on a mission to save Tiny Tina, battle alien species and discover one of Pandora’s most explosive secrets. The fate of the universe could be in their hands — but they’ll be fighting for something more: each other.

Viewers can become a Vault Hunter alongside Lilith, Roland, Tina Tina and Krieg with seven behind-the-scenes bonus features available on participating platforms: “‘Borderlands’ — From Game to Screen,” “Meet the Team,” “All Aboard the Death Choochoo,” “Bringing ‘Borderlands’ to the Screen,” “Badonkadonk Time,” “Fashion and Action on Pandora” and “High-Tech Hellscapes.”

Dìdi (弟弟) (Comedy, Drama)

Focus Features’ hilarious coming-of-age story “Dìdi (弟弟)” debuts on Blu-ray Tuesday, Oct. 29, from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. The film is also now available to rent or own on Digital.

In 2008, during the last month of summer before high school begins, an impressionable 13-year-old Taiwanese American boy (Izaac Wang, “Good Boys”) learns what his family can’t teach him: how to skate, how to flirt and how to love your mom.

Masterfully directed by Academy Award nominee and first-time feature filmmaker Sean Wang (“Nai Nai & Wài Pó”), “Dìdi (弟弟)” also stars Joan Chen (“Judge Dredd”), Shirley Chen (“Quiz Lady”) and Chang Li Hua (“Nai Nai & Wài Pó”). The film celebrated its world premiere earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival, where it took home both the U.S. Dramatic Audience Award and the U.S. Dramatic Special Jury Award for Best Ensemble Cast. Viewers who purchase the movie on Digital or Blu-ray will have access to a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the unique coming-of-age story — “The Making of Dìdi (弟)” — with commentary by the film’s director, cast and crew.

Made in England: The Films of Powell & Pressburger (Documentary)

Presented, narrated and executive produced by Martin Scorsese, “Made in England: The Films of Powell & Pressburger” comes to Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, Oct. 29, from Cohen Media Group.

Scorsese (“The Departed”) first encountered the films of Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger when he was a child, sitting in front of the family TV. When their famous logo came up on screen, Scorsese says, “You knew you were in for fantasy, wonder, magic — real film magic.” With “Made in England,” he tells the story of his lifelong love-affair with their movies, including “The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp,” “Black Narcissus,” “The Red Shoes” and “The Tales of Hoffmann.”

Drawing on a rich array of archive material, Scorsese explores in full the collaboration between the Englishman Powell and the Hungarian Pressburger — two romantics and idealists, who thrived in the face of adversity during World War II but were eventually brought low by the film industry of the 1950s. Scorsese celebrates their ability to create “subversive commercial movies” and describes how deeply their films have influenced his own work.
