Wholesome family entertainment is in the offing with “Home is Where the Heart Is,” (theatrically released as “Watercolor Postcards” in 2012) which comes out on DVD Tuesday, August 19. The DVD comes with a Vudu digital copy.

The drama, directed by Rajeev Dassani (who has helmed episodes of “Scandal” and “Revolution”) and written by former NFL player Conrad Goode, tells the heartwarming story of two estranged half-sisters who reunite following the death of their mother.

Laura Bell Bundy (“Jumanji,” “Dreamgirls”) plays a disillusioned actress named Sunny, who returns to her Texas home for her mother’s funeral and becomes the caretaker of Cotton (Bailee Madison), the younger sister she never knew. “Breaking Bad’s” Jonathan Banks also stars.

While in the sleepy southern town Sunny meets Butch, an ex-NFL football player (Conrad Goode), also grieving from a loss, who sells his watercolor postcards at a roadside stand. Sunny and Butch bond over their mutual relationship with Cotton and conceive a plan to help save the town, which is failing economically. When (another!) tragedy strikes, their plans are derailed, but hope glimmers in the distance.
