Move over Justin Bieber. The newest teen hearthrob is 16-year-old Austin Mahone. The rising young pop singer is the first music artist on Chase Records, which has entered a deal with Universal Music. Chase Records, founded by Rocco Valdes, Michael Blumstein, and David Abram, will join the Universal family with distribution, marketing and radio promo through Universal Republic.
“We are so excited to join the Universal family,” said Rocco Valdes, Michael Blumstein and David Abram, Founders of Chase Records, in a joint statement. “Their resources are second to none, their stable of artists is top notch, and their team of executives, A&R, and radio reps are the strongest in the industry. We couldn’t have asked for a better support system and are excited to have their resources and support to launch Chase Records and the career of teen phenom, Austin Mahone.”
The young singer/songwriter from San Antonio is already making his mark on the scene. Mahone has just sold out New York’s famed Best Buy Theater within minutes of on-sales. His current single “Say Somethin” is lighting up at radio and climbing the charts. This single follows Mahone’s first hit on iTunes with his original single,“11:11.” His growing number of fans are known as “Mahomies.”
Mahone will celebrate his new label sign by making his television performance debut on “Live! with Kelly,” performing his brand new hit single, “Say Somethin” live on air, September 20. Check local listings.
Mahone is working with hit maker Bei Maejor on his first full length album now. It is slated to drop sometime this fall.
