‘Suburbicon,’ ‘Extraordinary Mission,’ ‘Kill Order’ and More on Home Entertainment … Plus Giveaways!!!

Director George Clooney’s 2017 suspenseful thriller “Suburbicon” arrives on Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday Feb. 6, from Paramount Home Media Distribution.  The film also is available on digital platforms.

The idyllic town of Suburbicon is the perfect place for Gardner Lodge (Academy Award winner Matt Damon, “Good Will Hunting”) to make a home. But beneath this tranquil surface lies a disturbing reality, where nothing is as it seems.  When a break-in leads to the shocking murder of his wife, Gardner must navigate the town’s underbelly of deceit and violence to protect his family from further harm.  “Suburbicon” also stars Academy Award winner Julianne Moore (“Still Alice”) and Oscar Isaac.

The Blu-ray is packed with more than 50 minutes of bonus content. Join Damon, Moore and Isaac as they dive into the making of the film and discuss everything from the script to casting and more. Plus, check out the film’s unique score and find out how the composer was inspired by the storyline. Also included is a commentary by writer/director Clooney and co-writer Grant Heslov.

From Alan Mak and Felix Chong, co-writers of “The Departed,” comes “Extraordinary Mission,” arriving on Blu-ray and digital Tuesday Feb. 6 from Cinedigm and Crimson Forest Films.

Noted action star Huang Xuan (“The Interpreter”) stars in this Hong Kong crime drama as Lin Kai, an undercover officer assigned to penetrate the Twin Eagles drug cartel. To gain cartel boss Eagle’s (Yihong Duan, “White Deer Plain”) trust, Kai is forced into gradual drug addiction while attempting to locate the cartel’s production base. Stakes are further complicated when Kai realizes Eagle has been plotting a violent revenge against his supervisor Li Jianguo (Jiadong Xing, “The Last Women Standing”) for over a decade.

The action-packed thriller in Mandarin was a smash hit at the Chinese box office. Both the Blu-ray and DVD collections feature English subtitles, and will be available for the suggested retail price (SRP) of $19.97 and $14.93, respectively.

A deadly hit-man becomes an accidental hero in the pulse-pounding action-thriller “Accident Man,” available on DVD and Digital Tuesday Feb. 6 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.  Based on the underground British comic “Toxic!” by Pat Mills (creator of the “Judge Dredd” comic) and Tony Skinner, this darkly humorous and stylishly violent adaptation is directed by Jesse V. Johnson (“Triple Threat,” “The Butcher”) and co-written by Scott Adkins and Stu Small.

Adkins (“Doctor Strange,” “The Expendables 2”) stars as Accident Man, a stone-cold killer who must face off against a rogue’s gallery of ruthless assassins in order to uncover the truth about his ex-girlfriend’s murder. Co-starring Ashley Greene (“Twilight” series), Oscar nominee David Paymer (“Mr. Saturday Night”), and action fan favorites Ray Park (“Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace”), Ray Stevenson (“Thor” series) and Michael Jai White (The Dark Knight), “Accident Man” hits its target with a lethally entertaining combination of explosive fight scenes and comical moments.

Bonus features include audio commentary with star/producer/co-writer Adkins and Small and two making-of featurettes: “Assassin’s Roll Call,” viewers are introduced to the crew of assassins that make it their mission to make their kills look like accidents and hear from Johnson, Adkins and the cast on how they made every fight look like a work of art in “Violent Ballet: Filming the Fights.”

RLJE Films, an RLJ Entertainment brand, is set to release “Kill Order,” on VOD, Digital HD and on DVD Tuesday Feb. 6.  Written and directed by James Mark (“Jumper”),” the action/sci-fi film stars Chris Mark (“Suicide Squad”), Daniel Park (“Pacific Rim”), Denis Akiyama (“Pixels”), Melee Hutton (“Beautiful People”), Jessica Clement (“Pure”), Jason Gosbee (“Suicide Squad”), Reuben Langdon (“Ant-Man”) and Alain Moussi (“Kickboxer: Vengeance”). The film will be available for an SRP of $27.97.

Chaos erupts when a group of armed men break into a high school classroom. They target David (Mark), a quiet kid who secretly suffers from unexplained memories of a horrifying past. Tapping into a previously unknown strength, David fights off his attackers and goes on the run. With his life and the lives of his loved ones in jeopardy, David must master the use of his new superhuman strength and fighting skills to find the people responsible and get his revenge.

Terror finds a new home in the supernatural horror-thriller “House of Demons,” which is being distributed by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment on digital and DVD Tuesday Feb. 6. Amber Benson (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) leads a cast of up-and-coming actors in this chilling tale of four old friends who reunite at a remote rental house once used by a Manson Family-like cult and which now has the power to manifest its inhabitants’ deepest fears and darkest demons.

Written and directed by Patrick Meaney (“Neil Gaiman: Dream Dangerously”) and co-starring Dove Meir (“NCIS: Los Angeles”), Chloe Dykstra (“Heroes of Cosplay”), Morgan Peter Brown (“Ouija”), Tiffany Smith (“Attack of the Show”), Taliesin Jaffe ( “Critical Role”), Whitney Moore (“Birdemic 1 & 2”), Jeff Torres (“Pitch”) and Kaytlin Borgen (Text), the suspense thriller opens its doors on DVD with frighteningly fun bonus features, including deleted scenes, director’s commentary and the behind-the-scenes featurettes “Meet the Cast & Crew,” “Bringing the Story to Life” and “Composers of House of Demons.”

Get ready for the all-new family comedy, “Woody Woodpecker,” coming to DVD, Digital and On Demand Tuesday Feb. 6, from Universal 1440 Entertainment, a production entity of Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. The film blends live action and CGI animation to tell the crazy and funny story of an all-out turf war between the mischievous prankster and a big city lawyer who wants to build his dream home in Woody’s backyard.

Directed by Alex Zamm (“Inspector Gadget 2,” “The Little Rascals Save the Day”), “Woody Woodpecker” stars Timothy Omundson (“Psych”), Thaila Ayala (“Rio Heat”), Graham Verchere (“Fargo”) Jordana Largy (“Monster Trucks”) and Eric Bauza (“The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water”), as the voice of Woody. The “Woody Woodpecker” DVD and digital features deleted scenes and an exclusive inside look at the making of the film as well as the evolution of Woody’s iconic cartoon character.

“Woody Woodpecker” is back with his signature laugh, wacky antics and wisecracks in his first ever live-action/animated film. Woody must protect his forest home from Lance Walters (Omundson), who starts building his dream mansion in the forest with his son, Tommy (Verchere), and fiancee, Vanessa (Ayala). To make matters worse, Woody must avoid the clutches of two grizzly poachers. With a series of crazy hijinks to sabotage their plans, the wily woodpecker proves he’ll stop at nothing to defend his turf.

One of the bonus features on both the Blu-ray and DVD collection recounts the evolution of Woody Woodpecker, the little redheaded bird with the unforgettable laugh, who’s forever pecking his way out of trouble. The filmmakers and cast discuss this version of the Woody character and why his brand of physical humor translates across all audiences and age groups. In another, filmmakers, cast and crew discuss working with a computer-generated lead character.

Created by Walter Lantz in 1940, Woody Woodpecker and his friends have entertained kids for more than 75 years. Woody Woodpecker cartoons appeared in theaters until they debuted on television in 1957. Woody’s popularity resulted in new shows airing across several decades. “The Woody Woodpecker Show” has been broadcast in more than 155 territories and 105 languages worldwide.
