A bloody mix of startling twists and unexpected humor, Searchlight Pictures’ “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come” is now available to own on Digital. The film also releases on Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, June 16.
In the action‑packed, darkly comedic horror sequel that expands the “Ready or Not” mythology with another lethal game of hide and seek, Samara Weaving (“Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”) returns as Grace alongside an all‑star cast, including Kathryn Newton (“Freaky”), Sarah Michelle Gellar (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”), Shawn Hatosy (“Southland”), Nestor Carbonell (“Lost”), David Cronenberg (“Star Trek: Discovery”) and Elijah Wood (“The Lord of the Rings” trilogy). Still reeling from her brutal escape from the Le Domas family, Grace is thrust into an even more unhinged bloodbath when she becomes prey once again — this time hunted alongside her estranged sister by four rival families, each ruthlessly vying for absolute power and control of the High Seat of the Council.
Bonus features on the Digital and Blu-ray releases of “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come” include two feature-length audio commentary tracks — one with directors/executive producers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin (“Scream VI”) and Tyler Gillett (“Abigail”) and stars Samara Weaving and Kathryn Newton, and the other with Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett, executive producers/writers Guy Busick (“Scream 7”) and R. Christopher Murphy (“Ready or Not”), producers James Vanderbilt (“Zodiac”) and Tripp Vinson (“Murder Mystery 2”), and editor Jay Prychidny (“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”) — as well as an 11-minute gag reel and a 2-minute “Rules of the Game” featurette where viewers can learn the rules of the deadly game of hide and seek, from the contained family ritual to the expanded high-stakes hunt. Additionally, both releases feature the four-part behind-the-scenes featurette “The Game Goes On: The Making of ‘Ready or Not 2,’” where viewers can listen to the directors and cast discuss what sets the sequel apart from the first film and how the team expanded the story in a meaningful way; see what various actors brought to their roles; dive deeper into the design and execution of the film’s finale with a look at the set construction, practical effects and the bloody aftermath left behind; and explore how the film’s explosive deaths and blood gags were created.
