Elio (Adventure, Animation, Comedy, Drama, Family, Fantasy, Sci-Fi)
Take your family on an interstellar adventure with Disney and Pixar’s “Elio,” landing on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, Sept. 9. The charming animated feature is also now available to own on Digital.
The latest chapter in Disney and Pixar’s storytelling legacy, “Elio” follows Elio Solís (voiced by Yonas Kibreab, “Obi-Wan Kenobi”), an alien-obsessed boy who suddenly has a close encounter of the intergalactic kind. After trying everything to contact extraterrestrials, Elio is thrilled when they not only respond, but beam him up to their cosmic “Communiverse.” Imagine his surprise when other planetary powers-that-be assume he is the leader of Earth! Elio’s experience in the Communiverse not only expands his horizons, but also teaches him how important it is to build connections with loved ones back on Earth.
The Digital, 4K UHD and Blu-ray releases of “Elio” feature plenty of exclusive bonus content, including a gag reel, five deleted scenes (“Bike Chase,” “Garden Party,” “Carver Legend,” “Questa’s Second Test” and “Home Visit”) and a peek at Pixar’s Easter Egg inclusions. Viewers can also go behind the scenes with the cast and crew to get an in-depth look at the design and development of “Elio’s” meteoric main characters, as well as the making of all the celestial environments that make up the film’s universe, in “Inside the Communiverse: The World and Characters of ‘Elio;’” hear a real-life astronaut discuss space travel, possible alien life on other planets and why it’s important to study space in “Out of This World: An Astro Q&A;” and have “Elio’s” lead story artist, Nicolle Castro (“Luca”), guide them through drawing a couple of the film’s interstellar characters in “Astronomic Art Class: Ooooo and Glordon.”
Jurassic World Rebirth (Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi, Thriller)
After a record-breaking box office debut, “Jurassic World Rebirth” roars onto 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, Sept. 9, from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment and Amblin Entertainment. The film is also now available to own on Digital.
A new era is born. A covert extraction team races to the most dangerous place on Earth — an island research facility where dinosaurs too deadly for the original Jurassic Park were left behind. Their mission: collect DNA from three colossal creatures to unlock a drug with huge benefits for humanity. In a terrain populated by perils, they will make a shocking discovery that has been hidden for years.
The beloved “Jurassic” franchise, which has immersed audiences in a world of dinosaurs for more than three decades, evolves in an ingenuous new direction with “Jurassic World Rebirth.” The action-packed epic introduces viewers to a new world of characters, led by Scarlett Johansson (“Black Widow”), Jonathan Bailey (“Wicked”) and two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali (“Moonlight,” “Green Book”). The film also stars Rupert Friend (“Obi-Wan Kenobi”), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (“The Lincoln Lawyer”), Luna Blaise (“Manifest”), David Iacono (“The Summer I Turned Pretty”), Audrina Miranda (“Lopez vs. Lopez”), Philippine Velge (“Station Eleven”), Belchir Sylvain (“BMF”) and Ed Skrein (“Deadpool”).
“Jurassic World Rebirth” comes loaded with bonus features on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and Digital, including two deleted scenes with extra dinosaur mayhem (“Raptors” and “Mutadon Attack”), an alternate opening, a gag reel and the six-part making-of documentary “‘Jurassic World Rebirth:’ Hatching a New Era.” Two feature commentaries are also included on the releases — one with director Gareth Edwards (“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”), production designer James Clyne (“The Creator”) and first assistant director Jack Ravenscroft (“Wicked”) and the other with Edwards, editor Jabez Olssen (“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”) and visual effects supervisor David Vickery (“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”) — as well as four featurettes. Viewers can meet the animatronic Aquilops with an extraordinarily lifelike personality in “Meet Dolores;” get a victim’s firsthand view inside the frightening jaws of deadly dinosaurs that munch, chomp and chew their way into creating unforgettable death sequences in “Munched: Becoming Dino Food;” join actress Audrina Miranda as she tours Skywalker Sound in California to meet the audio editors, foley artists and mixers who designed the movie’s wide array of sounds in “A Day at Skywalker Sound;” and find out where to look for cleverly hidden Easter eggs that pay homage to everything from the first “Jurassic Park” film to other Steven Spielberg classics in “Hunting for Easter Eggs.”
The extras on the DVD release of “Jurassic World Rebirth,” meanwhile, include an alternate opening, deleted scenes, a gag reel and more.
