‘Emilia Pérez’ leads in most nominations for the 2025 Oscars

HOLLYWOOD-CA. The nominations for the 97th Academy Awards were announced today, with Jacques Audiard’s “Emilia Pérez” leading the pack at 13 nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actress for Karla Sofía Gascón, marking her as the first openly trans performer to receive an acting nomination.

Following closely, “The Brutalist” and “Wicked” each garnered 10 nominations.

Notable acting nominees include Timothée Chalamet for “A Complete Unknown,” Sebastian Stan for “The Apprentice,” and Colman Domingo for “Sing Sing,” potentially becoming the first out gay Black man to win an acting Oscar.

The Best Picture category features a diverse lineup, including “Dune: Part Two,” “Wicked,” and “The Substance.”

The ceremony, hosted by Conan O’Brien, is scheduled for March 2, 2025, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
